From Your PTSA President – Stephanie Quarry

Membership - FYI: At the February Council meeting Hope was presented an “Early Bird Award” certificate for submitting per capita dues by 11/01/09, and also the “Chairman’s Club” membership award for submitting per capita dues of 50 members by 11/15/09. Thanks to all Hope parents, students and community who joined Hope PTSA this year. We can do more for Hope students because you joined in support of Hope PTSA. FYI - our membership to date for the year is 165.

 

Association Meeting - FYI: On the evening of February 23rd and before our Parent Education Night began, we held our 3rd Association Meeting and took care of necessary business items. We also conducted an election of Officers for the 2010-11 PTSA Executive Board. The following officers will officially begin their post on July 1st: Danni Otto / President, Mary Sanchez / Secretary, Stephanie Quarry / Treasurer, Vicky Lopez / 1st V.P. Membership, Jenny Thai / 2nd V.P. Programs, Shannon Haraga-Bhatia / 3rd V.P. Fundraising, and Etsuko Brodnick / Auditor.

 

Parent Education Night – Hope PTSA would like to extend our most sincere THANKS to the Specialists at MetLife’s Division of Estate Planning for Special Kids Rich Dutrisac and Jim Gilmore, the presenters at our P.E.N. on Tuesday, February 23rd. Their discussion covered a wealth of information about conservatorship, guardianship, trusts and much, much more. It was a truly informative evening for all Hope parents who attended.

 

Fundraising - FYI: We hope you received our flyer on the “Jamba School Appreciation Program”. If you haven’t returned the completed form to school yet, please take a moment to complete it and return it with your student soon. By using the Jamba Card at the time you purchase any Jamba Juice, Hope PTSA will receive 10% of your purchase, and National PTA will receive 2%. This is just another way you can help PTSA support the students at Hope. Thanks!!

 

Family Fun Night – This annual event at Hope School is scheduled for Thursday, March 18th. Prior to the start of the festivities, PTSA will conduct their 4th and last Association meeting of this school year. At this time our H.S.A. Committee will also present Honorary Service Awards to very special recipients. These awards are given to an individual or an organization in special recognition of outstanding service to children and youth. Try to come early and join us for this special presentation.
