Room 45-B

Homeroom:
Our homeroom works on vocational, self help, mobility, communication, social/emotional, and functional academic skills. Students participate in cooking, art, and recreation/leisure activities. Students go into the community at least once a week. We work on social skills, shopping skills, and mobility while in the community. We practice taking the public bus and walking through the community. Our main goals in room 45-B are to teach students to be as functional and independent as possible and to have fun!

Custodial and Food Preparation:
Custodial and food preparation is designed to teach vocational and work skills. In these classes we set up the cafeteria for lunch, serve food, assemble lunch boxes, and wrap silverware. Students work on following directions, task completion, time on task, and working cooperatively with their peers. The vocational skills students learn in these classes prepare them for jobs on campus and in the community.
